This is pretty bad... well saying that it could be a whole lot worse but it doesn't sell me as being part of a team meant to help the taxpaying members of the public. I think The Mirror is overkilling some aspects, the multiple punches to the head don't really happen, they appear to be to the shoulder. There is simply no excuse for the copper grating the chaps head into the floor. I must admit to using some home office 'disapproved' techniques but nothing to the extent demonstrated here.
I am sure the officer will be put through the wash and his career terminated but I don't see how the Lance Corporal should have his actions of 'acting like a cock' overlooked either. What the Mirror fails to add is that should the Lance Corporal have done that to the police in Afghanistan or Iraq he would have not a head on his shoulders.....

Quick, short and sharp
Another thing that has changed beyond all recognition is that I am no longer 'allowed' to get into rumbles on a Saturday night. This is a good and a bad thing - good being I no longer risk getting head butted and the bad being I can no longer dish out street justice 70's style. Maybe this is actually a win/win for me...
The people I arrest also tend to be 'proper' criminals as well. No D&Ds or Common Assaults for me. Agg burglary, attempt murder and firearms offences are the staples and, although infrequent, when I do get involved the nick is over in literally 20 - 30 seconds. Hardened villans become strangely compliant when my team turn up and there is usually minimal resistance - laser dots have that effect.
They are then bundled into a van and are dealt with by 'uniform'. I still can't get over that, someone else other than me dealing with the chore of custody and interviewing... my new job really has been a good move!
